Hi, I’m Stephanie Santos-Spencer, MS, LMFT
I’m so glad you’re here! Please keep scrolling to find out more about me and how we might connect.
Why choose to work with me?
My style of therapy is very collaborative and conversational as I share tools that you can use in between our sessions. My clients describe me as welcoming, witty, attentive, direct, knowledgeable, patient, and relatable. I value our therapeutic relationship above any therapeutic model I may use with you. Essentially, if you don’t like and trust me, I won’t be very helpful to you. I will never judge you and you will always be the expert on your own life. We put your expertise and mine together to meet the goals that are important to you!
Fun Facts
I was born and raised in the Midwest before moving to New England for graduate school. I got a job and decided to put roots down here. I’ve enjoyed making New England my home, living my millennial life with my husband and my dog! I’m a lover of food, animals, creative outlets, and time spent with my family and friends.
Clinical Background
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University (Go Green!) in 2011. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy in 2013. I have worked in an intensive home-based therapy program as well as a group private practice before branching out on my own! My passion has always been understanding how others relate to themselves and the people/things around them, then using that knowledge to help people improve their lives and relationships.
Some of the evidence-based therapy models I use include (but are not limited to):
Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
Mindfulness
Gottman Method (Level 1 Trained) and Systems Theory
